We took our heirloom Old European diamond here to be set into a new engagement ring last October. I wanted an antique setting to complement the stone but didn't know much else walking in. I read reviews on Yelp and was looking for a family-owned jeweler that did the work on site as opposed to sending it off to be worked on. J. Lewis was the first jeweler we went to. Kelsey helped me find the perfect setting and I could not be happier with the way it turned out. I ordered a more detailed prong setting and later learned that it was out of stock in the size we needed. They offered to make the same setting by hand (for no extra cost) so we wouldn't have to wait. The jeweler also angled the prongs so that it would have a more antique feel. I couldn't be more impressed with the level of care and personal service we received. The bonus was that the setting I fell in love with was Old Gold price which was significantly lower than the current price. They don't increase the price of the gold once it has been cast. I feel like the value of our ring and the quality of the service far outweighed the dollar amount spent.
I went yesterday (without an appointment) to pick out a wedding band and Jill knew exactly what I wanted. She remembered my ring (even though I don't think I worked directly with her) and cleaned my ring and walked me over to the case and showed me the perfect ring right off the bat. She showed me other options but she knew exactly what would complement my engagement ring. This time I also brought some diamonds in to be set in an eternity band style and she treated me so graciously that I won't be tempted to go elsewhere in the future. Ever.
I plan on having pearls restrung here in the future and urge you to go to J. Lewis first. You won't need to go elsewhere.
